Morgan's Corner
Hey! I'm Morgan. I'm the Digital Illustrator responsible for a lot of drawings that you can see here on Alpha Colony and other Fantom Factory works. See the site logo? That was me! I also compose music occasionally.
Welcome to my page where I'll show you some of my works, and a little peek behind the curtain to see how it's done!
At Alpha Colony we believe in the power of fun and enjoyment in your eLearning. Those qualities are what I aim to bring with my illustrative works. Bright colours, fun characters and cool environments are part of what makes it memorable! Definitely beats a dull powerpoint with nothing but hulking walls of text, right!?

How it's done
I use Clip Studio Paint PRO for my illustration work, on a Huion Kamvas 13 display tablet. Almost everything is hand-drawn from scratch using multiple layers and effects.
Drawings typically start out with a sketch or 2 (or 20), and I will build on it from there with lines, colours, shading, lighting and the works.

Evolution
The alpha colony world has come a long way since it's conception. Our main characters used to look a lot different before I joined the team. Here's a look at how the alpha colony has evolved since then.

The style was changed from Sadun's highly rendered more realistic style to a simplified cartoony style that's more flexible and easier to draw for all of the different situations we put them in.
Music
For music work, I use FL Studio 20. A Digital Audio Workstation (DAW for short) that lets me compose music and engineer sounds.
Check out the video below to hear some work I did for Fantom Factory! The goal for a lot of these tracks was to make something futuristic and spacey - which is a genre I love!
It's important for our tutorial and presentation videos to have the right kind of soundtracks for better engagement. If a music track is too noisy and distracting, it will sour the desired experience. So having something simple and non-intrusive is better!
